Meet Grace (special needs)
Meet Grace, one of the most special cats in existence.
Grace was abused in her past life and unfortunately left paralyzed in both her hind legs. She uses her upper body strength to maneuver around, and she also has a cart.

Grace's paralysis does not inhibit her mood, she is a ball of positive energy. Each day she acts super grateful to be alive. She loves her life and she is easy to please. When Grace trusts you, she just melts your heart as she gazes at you and comes crawling to you.

When she bonds with another cat friend, she wants to be around them 24/7, playing & napping together, and grooming each other.

Grace needs to be expressed at least 2 (as per vet, ideally 3) times a day. She is unable to use the litter box on her own, as she has no control of her pelvic muscles. For this reason we are seeking an adopter who would have the schedule to be available to express her three times a day.

We can also offer that if you live in our vicinity, if you take a vacation, we can be her petsitter when you leave town. We love Grace so much but we are desperate to find someone to give her the care and attention she desires. We have so many cats and only so little time for each one.

We can also offer to teach you how to express - it is quite simple & straightforward!

Currently in foster care in Fountain Valley. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
