Meet Dennis
Dennis is a six-year-old dachshund who is looking for a very special home, with people who understand how to take care of a paralyzed dog. He came to Little Paws because his previous owners couldn't meet his needs, but we are going to find the wonderful people who will.

Environment

Dennis is not able to be house trained because of his paralysis. He has no control over his bladder or bowels, so he wears a belly band and a diaper. He sleeps in a crate at nighttime and uses a drag bag to move about the house. Dennis doesn't need a fenced backyard, but he enjoys wheeling along on walks. He can't be in a home with people who are gone a lot since he needs to be expressed or he will leak.

Pets & People

Dennis is affectionate and eager to please. There are currently four other dachshunds in the home with him and he does well with them. They band together to sing the song of their people when visitors arrive, but Dennis isn't otherwise very vocal. We've noticed he settles a bit quicker with women, but he's ok with just about anyone. He's untested with children and won't be placed with them due to his disability.

Health

Sweet Dennis doesn't let his disability get in the way. He needs to be expressed 4-5 times a day and wears his belly band and diaper 24/7. He uses a drag bag in the house, and wheels for walks but otherwise leads a normal dachshund life (ideally full of treats).

Location

Dennis is available for adoption from Frederick, MD. Please email BethMittleman@icloud.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Dennis is $150.
