Meet Wolverine (rear-paralyzed)
Wolverine was rescued with his brother when they were found in a tied up plastic bag in San Jose at 10 days old. His foster quickly realized it wasn't just heat exhaustion making it difficult to use his back legs, and thay he actually had no use of his hind legs. Being a crowded shelter with stretched resources, the choice was made to humanely euthanize, but his foster could not let that happen. They took this little bottle baby on as an independent foster paying for vet examinations and diving headfirst into learning how to care for a paralyzed kitten.

They had been caring for him for a year when the family received unexpected and crushing news that the husband and father, was diagnosed with cancer. Needing to focus on care and support themselves, the family started looking for another rescue that would take a non-traditional, more difficult to place cat. That's when they found Misfits, a rescue specializing in those cats who are special needs and medical cases that find themselves with few places that can offer support and a chance at a future. Misfits made the journey to California to pickup Wolverine. While his family said a tearful goodbye, we journeyed back to Wisconsin where he joined other fosters, met new friends, and quickly took over the dog's bed.

Wolverine gets along great with other cats after proper introduction and doesn't mind dogs who are laid back. He has no issue climbing carpeted stairs or a cat-tree! He loves coming up and head-butting your leg. He prefers sleeping at the bottom of the bed. Wolverine is a great cat if you dislike the sight of litterboxes as he doesn't need one, just an expression over the toilet a few times a day; and as long as this is met, he has no accidents. He enjoys car rides and was a great calm traveler on an airplane.

Born in July 2023, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested FIV/Felv negative.

Adopters will also receive an adoption package of goodies valued at around $100 if you visit one or both of our Petstore partners after adoption (Tabby & Jacks and All Paws).

Misfit Felines Inc is a foster based 501(c)3 rescue. All of our cats are in foster homes. The first step in the adoption process is to submit an application.
