Meet Cupcake, the Sweet Survivor
Hi, my name is Cupcake, as I am the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. I am a 2.5 years old Canaan dog originally from Jordan.

My life didn’t start off easy. I was owned by someone who mistreated me. For the first few years of my life all I saw was abuse at the hands of the person who was supposed to be my protector. One day a local rescue called “Rahmeh” took me for TNR. The minute they returned me to the area, a Good Samaritan called them to inform them of the daily abuse they witnessed me endure and urged them to rescue me. They didn’t hesitate.

Upon retrieving me from my unfortunate circumstance, my rescuers noticed that I had lost part of my front leg and that my back leg appeared to be paralyzed. Despite my disability, I am able to walk and run a short distance beside people. My mobility is best on area rugs, carpeting, stone surfaces, and grass.

My rescuers saw my potential to overcome my challenges so they contacted Canaan Dog Alliance who gave me an opportunity to travel to the United States.

I am now here in New Jersey waiting to find my forever home. My ideal home is one that is quiet and childless, with adults that have the dog expertise and time to invest in professionally training me. I need a kind and patience approach to blossom to my potential.

I was seen by a vet specialist that said that my back leg has potential to be mobile again with surgery and physical therapy, which would be life changing for me!

Will you give me the second chance that I deserve?
