SCI kitty, MD

Post by x »

Crosspost from Special Needs Rescue Cats List:

PEKOE is an older adult, maybe 10-11, n/m front declawed, social,
currently in a foster home in Montgomery County, MD. PEKOE was found in
woods near death in early March '06. He may have been hit by a car as
xrays show damage to 2 vertabrae in his neck. Despite dire vet
predictions, although completely immobilzed at the time, he now gets
around very well thankyou! - going up / down stairs, jumping on bed etc.
Slight disability remains in that he sometimes just 'collapses' when
walking or bending neck one particular way. Gets right up and goes on.
Needs lowkey home where no one will threaten him. Needs regular
brushing. Will bond very closely to caretaker. Please help PEKOE soon -
he deserves more than the cage he now lives in in a multicat home.
Picture included in forward.

Pekoe would be perfect for a recent widow or widower who needs to find love in their lives, and a reason to keep moving one foot in front of another. Have you talked to any of the local churches to see if there is a lonely person in their congregation who might need such a life as Pekoe? The wonder of our handicappedpets is they don't sit around and complain, whining "Why ME??" they get on with the business of life, and love.
Also talk to the local 4-H kids and ask them if in their journeys they meet anyone who might be a perfect 'fit'...
