Neuro kitty--Oregon

Post by critters »

Hi everyone,

I have a case right now with a woman who is losing hope about
finding a home for her kitty, JoJo. Irene lives in Oregon; rescued
this kitty when it was a kitten 1.5 years ago, but has some health
problems that are making it hard to continue caring for him.

I'd appreciate if anyone who sees this can pass it along to people
they know who might be able to provide a home for this boy:

If JoJo had been born a normal kitten, he would have been part of a
family long ago. But JoJo was born with neurological problems
instead, and that makes him walk funny, which makes people think
something's really wrong with him.

In fact, JoJo is as healthy as any "normal" kitty - he just needs to
execute leaps and long jumps to move forward, and sometimes he even
topples over in the process! Oh well! When that happens, JoJo just
picks himself up, dusts himself off, and starts all over again!

This one-and-a-half-year-old kitty has had a good life so far in
Gresham, Oregon, with his rescuer, Irene. Unfortunately, Irene has a
health problem that causes her a lot of pain and is making it more
and more difficult to attend to JoJo. Soon she'll need to get
surgery, and as much as she loves JoJo she realizes that she won't
be able to take care of his needs much longer.

Irene knows that JoJo really needs a new home - and soon. If you can
help her place this loving boy into a home, please call her at ... or via email at oceanorangegreen@yahoo.com

Thanks so much for your assistance,

It sounds like this kitten is a CH kitty (cerebellar hypoplasia). Maybe the fact that JoJo is being profiled as a 'neuro' kitty is scaring people and if he was said to have CH more people would be willing to consider him. Through the CH kitty yahoo group and CH kitty website more people are coming to know how special CH kitties are and more CH kitties are being saved from shelters and adopted. Possibly his mom could join the yahoo group to find him a home. I know there are several Oregon members and they may have leads. Or his mom might be able to learn some tricks and tips that will help her care for him easier. /mari
