Urgent! Swollen tail

Hi I need help badly, i have a seven month old male dog who is handicapped from his stomach to his hind legs, he can't feel a thing, and now his tail is swollen badly at the base, the vets don't know what it is. Please help.

I have never heard of this, either. You mean his actual tail, right? Not his anus where he poops? Did the vet actually examine him and shave the tail to take a better look? Is he on any medication? Could he possibly have a spider bite or something like that? I wonder if it could be cellulitis?
