Tierseas' eye has goen critical

Blind and deaf pets can live happy, healthy, quality lives. In fact, sometimes it's hard to tell them from sighted pets. They do, though, have their own special needs.

Tierseas' eye has goen critical

Post by Bendy Kitty »

last night his swollen eye started hurting him bad. mom gave him some butorphanol and put a warm compress on the eye. it has gotten all gooey again.
he has restarted on clavamox too. he has been on l-lysing & terramycin this entire time.

mom was out all day today. came home & he was very fussy. his eye was again covered in goo. another warm compress to get the goo off.
the entire front of his eye has burst (thsi makes rupture #4).
gave him more butorphanol & some nip. at the advice of another experienced person put Vit E oil on his eye, which did seem to soothe it.
he is sleeping semi stoned & comfy right now.

going to call teh vet on monday, need to invent some way to pay for this. The rescue is broke right now. argh.

Can you just have his eye removed? It sounds like a painful, ongoing problem. Does he have a good eye? Jack (corgi) does great with just one good eye.

I am happy to say that Tierseas is home and doing very well. He is exploring, probably wondering why the world looks different, but he does have a little bit of sight out of the other eye.

Here he is snuggling in mom's lap, he is very happy to be home.

Enuke is a wonderful solution and the pain, once the surgery pain is gone, it is gone forever. What a grand improvement! I am so happy for Tierseas! Which means, WHAT, btw :) :) (don't make me google it, I'll find sites I never wanted to e-see!)
