blind and deaf 4yr old kitten

Blind and deaf pets can live happy, healthy, quality lives. In fact, sometimes it's hard to tell them from sighted pets. They do, though, have their own special needs.

blind and deaf 4yr old kitten

Post by danielaa69 »

I adopted my kitten @ 3 months of age, being told she was visually impaired. After getting checked by a specialist last year i was gold she is deaf and blind. Obviously hef vision as well as her hearing have worsened since i adopted her. Because of this, i feel and know she is missing out. She sleeps a lot and its sometimes challenging to play with her because she cant hear or see..i want to get another cat for her to help her play with her and help hed out. Do you agree or would this be too much for her?

:rainbow: My experience is that handicappers, especially ones with more severe disabilities, NEED sibs to help them. You might need to borrow the prospective fur/s for a trial run, to see who might work out the best.

My fear is that they might bully my cat....would a young kitten be better??

Well, yes, that's why I suggested a trial run. Younger ones typically seem to bully less, although that's not guaranteed; my newest is about 8 MO now (a wonky Siamese) and is a terrible little monster.

Trial run? So thats fostering, right-or going to adoption events and letting them know what is going on..
