Stop my blind dog from barking home alone

Blind and deaf pets can live happy, healthy, quality lives. In fact, sometimes it's hard to tell them from sighted pets. They do, though, have their own special needs.

Stop my blind dog from barking home alone

Post by Brookiecott »

Me and my boyfriend are about to move into a new apartment and I’m nervous about our dog barking while we are at work. My dog is a small white Maltese, he lost his eyes cause he’s nervy and was playing with cats:/. However he knows his way around pretty well and I’m pretty sure he understands everything I say. he is now 6 and he lost his first eye at 11 months and his 2nd at 26 months. Everytime I leave my room without him he barks and I’m concerned that he won’t be able to last all day while me and my boyfriend are at work. Anytime he can’t find me he just barks and whines. I’ve tried to make him stop and he just constantly wants to be with me. Quarantine didn’t help with separation anxiety either. Thanks in advance.

:whale: I was going to suggest some sound, too. I wonder if having another dog might help? My Bad Boys have each other, and they thoroughly enjoy fighting, biting, and scrapping together.
