White doxie

Blind and deaf pets can live happy, healthy, quality lives. In fact, sometimes it's hard to tell them from sighted pets. They do, though, have their own special needs.

Do you know if any eyeball anomalies or if deaf? How old? I'm going to search for double dapple rescue now... let me know what you find out.
Is this pup near you?
Coast to Coast Dachsund Rescue - they have double dapples:

Almost Home Dachsund Rescue - they have double dapples:

Central Texas Dachsund Rescue - they have double dapples:

Looks like any good doxie rescue does the DDs. Can you tell me more and I can cross post?
GOOD GRIEF, they've got their own website as well as breeders!

Let me know if there is any need for a foster or permanent home. I will gladly take in the little guy if needed.

I have a customus that jsut got a doxie (rescue) that is blind and deaf. She is going to the opthamologist with it later this month to see if there is just a little shadow perception in one eye.
It is a spotted doxie...half white on the face, half brown. My customer says this breeder keeps breeding, even though there have been more puppies with these handicaps from this type of breeding...

Any one know more about this?
No matter where you go, there you are.

Sounds like a double dapple ~ is there any way someone could print out some genetic info for this breeder to READ?
Gads.
There was a poster in a Doxie group that could not understand why she had so many double dapples? Could any one tell her?
I posted a reply in the guest registry.

Re: White doxie-Does with puppy need a home

Post by michelle »

Hi- I was wondering if the puppy needs a home- I am looking to adopt a puppy with special needs. I am a physical therapist and have adopted children with special needs. I also have 3 dogs with special needs looking to adopt another one. I have an Australian shepherd that is deaf, one eye and three legs - due to blue merle to blue merle breeding same as double dapple to double dapple breeding in doxies. We absolutely love all our dogs with special needs. Michelle Hanover, PA

Hi! I just wanted to say you should stick around; not only will you be sure to find the disabled critter you're looking for, but MANY around here are similar. Some work in sped, some help in sped, etc, and we have bazillions of critters with disabilities. LOL
