I am not sure whether he is suffering or not. He does not whine, but he does pant alot which I have heard is a sign that they are hurting. If anyone else has had experience with the panting but no wincing or whining please advise. Thanks Purrmutt. Your dog can still live for a couple of years, as long as there is no suffering.
Yes it feels like I lost a child ( I have no children). With support of the people here and helping out others I go on and hope another dog will find me.

I always learned panting is either, too hot , pain or fear.
