Need good thoughts and candles to light the way

I have been a part of this Forum since March 15, 2008. My beautiful Golden Retriever has been slowly going downhill. He has Arthritis, Hip Dysplasia, Spondylosis and possible DM. He is now 13 yrs, and 8 3/4 mos old.

You have never seen a dog with a stronger will to live than him!! (you can view his progress & pictures in the Paralysis board under Golden with possible DM) He wants to be here with us soooo badly! But everything is a struggle now, and we know it's time.

Angelo is a very special dog... a "one in a million". Our first Golden Retriever. And we are very happy that he was able to live a long, adventurous and happy life.

Tomorrow, January 5th, we will be making our way to the Vet with him at 3:40PM EST. We would appreciate any good thoughts, prayers, or candles lit for him to find his way.

Hi Jeanne,
I had read Angelo's story and really admire the determination he had, and you as well. I really admire all that you have done with him.
I know your heart is heavy today and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you have peace in you heart with your decision as it truly has been made from a place of love.

Oh, Jeanne, the tears are streaming. Your Angelo will always be the light of your life, and he has changed your life in so many ways. Lessons they teach us stay with us forever, and make us into better human beings. Make his favorite meal, give him all the forbidden treats, ice cream, chocolate, and lots of human food. Make his journey the happiest it can be under the circumstances.

My boy will be gone in less than 4 hours. I still have a lot of diggin to do. He's been having chocolate and no-nos since yesterday. Making him spaghetti for dinner.

I am so very sorry. I was pleading with Andy this mornin to meet Jude at the Bridge. I will ask Andy to stay there for Angelo as well. Our pups will be pain free and they will be able to run, for Jude the first time in his life.

Prayers for an easy passing, and tears for you, Jeanne. I am so very sorry, I can't even see to type.
