Stewie Passed On

Post by sdrakkan »

Tonight Stewie passed away...I don't even know what to do with myself. It's so hard to put everything into this and have it taken away like this.

Oh, noooo..... I am so very sorry. The harder we try, the harder it hurts. We are so frantic and focused on helping our best friends and then POOF, everything disappears and the hurt starts. The hurt really hurts. I am crying with you this morning. I am so sorry for your loss. :candle:

I am so sorry...that precious baby touched everyone of us and everyone who saw your beautiful picures. Bless you and the others here, who do what you do. I know he brought you joy in his short little life and you definitely brought it to him - he was the happiest little guy in his pictures. I also send condolences to his other mom who never got to bring him to share his life with her. Think of what he accomplished in his short existence, thanks to you. Please take care of yourself.

I have to go to work today and talk about peoples pets...it seems like this will be like Benjamin all over again and I'll be carrying a towel to cry into every 20 minutes. (Benjamin was one of my first cats who passed away 2 years ago of renal failure helped along by the recalled food...my cell phone turned itself off and my mom had to go alone to have him put to sleep. I found out on the way to work and had to get off the bus so I could start screaming.) My whole store and customers were rooting for Stewie and still this happens.

My boyfriend asked if I really still wanted to start my own real rescue if I take it this hard...now I just don't know.

I'm very sorry for your loss; give yourself some time to heal-it is VERY HARD to deal with, but you hurt because you cared. Stewie is okay now....

I am so sorry for you, we all know the emptiness, the silence after a beloved pet is gone.
Continue to do your rescue work, it will help you heal doing so much good.
Stewie is always within you.

That is simply a beautiful place to sleep! You know, after I lost AllixMurderedPup, 10 days later, I was back at the shelter. I HAD to fill that hole. Then I questioned whether I had made the mistake of my life. Not only did I make the BEST decision of my life, but AmbrrNanaDog (now 10.5, with cataracts, arthritis and edemas) makes my rescuing possible. After I lost St.JudeMiracleDog, AngelTillman took his place. The Legacy is what matters. The Legacy is life and rescue and LIFE. Your Stewie's life will be marked by his legacy. His legacy is life and love. You can grow his memory, and you can take comfort. I lost a huge chunk of my heart when AngelTillman passed in March. But the thought of him NOT having a year of life and love is just too awful to comprehend and something I could never live with myself, had I not given him a family to die with. That's where you examine your heart and find that YES! You can do this. You are SUPPOSED to grieve. These precious lives change us forever, make us better human beans and YES, they will live on, long after they have drawn their last breath. Your Stewie's legacy can be a wonderful life for someone else even if that life is too short. It's the LOVE they share, the LOVE we find, the LOVE they deserve that makes rescue possible. Makes it as necessary as drawing another breath, in fact. Cry for Stewie and honor his life and his love. And grow his legacy. Let me know if I can help.
