Tribute to Mysti

Post by petJill13.8 »

A tribute to Mysti --- in sickness and in health

History -- Rescue Pet found chained to the Wytheville Shelter on July 4.
Age around 10 years when found.
Breed-- Mixed--- Beagle/Boxer/ ?
Fostered and then adopted July 17, 2008.
Disposition --- Calm, laid back, quiet, (no barking or jumping), attention loving, appreciative pet.
Medical diagnosis - “Tumor manufacturer”, recurring cough, and old age seizures.
Medical history- 4 operations to remove lumps and internal tumors.
Seizures began in late 2011 and were diminished with medication. Walking troubles and balance problems remained difficult to the end (notice her “doggy buggy” which she happily accepted to get longer walks!). Yesterday (Memorial Day) she couldn’t walk (even with the aid of a rolled up towel as a “back end aid”). A large abdominal tumor was found on her last trip to the Vet 5/29/12.
We give thanks for all the good times we had with her for almost 4 years. At last she is free of discomfort, post surgery pain, and inability to move well.
Mysti- Thanks for all the Love you gave to us. Rest in Peace. Mysti's Mom

You know what, all because of you she had a wonderful life, in spite of every reason NOT to. She could not have been a luckier dog. It is so wonderful that you adopted her and rose to meet every challenge, challenges nobody could have predicted, but you loved her through all of them. You are an amazing example of how to care for a sweet spirit like she was, in the face of so many health setbacks. It has been such a privilege to know this story. Best to you always, and thank you for sharing Mysti and her journey along the way. I am sorry for your loss, you clearly loved her so very much.

Dear Mysti's mom,
To the only one who was a true "MOM" to Mysti. To the only one who cared enough to have her ailments treated. To the only one who loved her. To the only one who spent time with her.
Your girl was so lucky. Who knows what kind of life she had before your care. But, you cared about one little doggy that needed someone so badly.
I remember hearing that if we only knew how great heaven was we would no longer wish to stay here. Imagine the scene when Mysti sees you and comes running across the Rainbow Bridge to never ever be separated from her "Mom" again. Imagine the look on her face when she is reunited with you again. May those thoughts bring you comfort.
I am so sorry for your loss./Jean
