Cookie crossed the rainbow bridge

Post by Cookies mom »

I took Cookie in for an assessment with our vet after the vet med college hospital called. I asked her why Cookie was going down hill fast! She was no longer walking, meowing and responding. I had to carry her to her food bowl, touch food to her mouth to coax her to eat, carry her to the litter box, take a stick and scratch the litter so she would know what to do in it and then carry her to her bed. She just laid there, no response to my voice, her name, chirping of birds, nothing. That vet said to me 'she is brain damaged, what do you expect'. I took Cookie to our vet, she assessed Cookie to confirm that what I observed. I decided that this was not a life for my Cookie who was so active chasing mice, birds and going to make her visits to her fellow felines. It was a hard decision but I was not going to be selfish and keep her alive in her state. RIP my Cookums.
