My niece did that with one of those enormous woven plastic shopping bags.

It's not a new idea, but it's nice to see it done with pictures now.

What you do is to "cut the side" (I'd probably say "sides") out of a canvas bag, put the critter in it, and use the bag and handles to help him/her walk. It's supposed to be far easier than towel walking.
I keep thinking, why doesn't anyone use dowels to keep your 18" wide sling from bunching up into a 6" wide sling. All you would have to do is poke holes or slits in the bag and run a dowel through and I'm pretty sure it would keep it wide. Kind of like those grommet top curtains? Slits would be better than holes, I already drew my picture with holes, but 1/2" vertical slits would preserve the strength in the fabric and they're so easy. You just fold the bag along the line where you want slits and snip-snip-snip.
