Styrofoam keeps quadriplegic dog's head above water in UW treadmill

Found a video of a dog recovering from quadriplegia, floating in the underwater treadmill. They've taken a 1" thick piece of styrofoam maybe 18" x 18" and notched one side. They are putting it under his chin and neck so his face stays above water. It's also working as an eating tray when they put treats on it.

Here it looks like they put a flotation vest on the dog, then took 2 more floatation vests and put them on upside down, again to keep the dog's face up out of the water.
