Parent to a new amputee teacup poodle - Need Advice

Post by danniemoe30 »

I am in a new world. I have had pets all my life. But my family's newest pet is a teacup poodle. She is a year old. My daughter was holding her and she jumped out of her arms and fell on her left side. So I called the vet immediately and he said to bring her in. Her leg was broken at the hip and the knee. And she only weighs 2.6 lbs. I am trying to find some kind of device or prosthetic that can help her walk. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have they casted or pinned the leg yet? Are you meaning a walking aid for your baby, or a temporary wheelchair?

Hi and Welcome,

I'm confused. Did they amputate the leg, or merely say that it was broken in two places?
