dog wheel chair question
dog wheel chair question
I have a 12 year old 3 legged fox terrier (missing right front). A birth accident so she has learned to cope quite well. But now that she is aging her back legs are getting stiff and weak. Her vet has recommened a cart but I would like to talk to someone who has had some experience with a handicapped dog using a wheel chair and which type I would purchase

Re: dog wheel chair question
Well, I have experience with several different companies and carts.
I prefer the carts from Eddie's Wheels, as our Johanna has one and does great with it.
K9 Carts makes a good cart as well. Bothe this one and Eddie's are great for small dogs.
We have Pork Chop who uses a cart from Doggon' Wheels, and it is larger and bulkier than the others. Good luck!

Re: dog wheel chair question
Your first order of business is to decide the style of cart; since she's a front tripod as well, I'd consider a quad (4-wheeled) cart for all-over support. These aren't as common as the regular 2-wheeled ones, and not everybody makes them. CarolC's push-button list is here. http://www.handicappedpets.com/cgi-bin/msg/webbbs_config.pl?read=21043
