looking for old mattress pads

Post by critters »

If anybody has any old king- or queen-size mattress pads they want to get rid of, we can take them off your hands!! Leaky Boy has decided to sleep on my chest, and it's easiest to use a mattress pad as the top blanket. He doesn't leak much when he's well, and they're easier to wash. Thanks!

Hey Critters,

Have you visited the Salvation Army (de Arme`)? They have tons of linens at low prices.

Or try Freecycle. I got a nice bunch of used towels from someone (two bags full.)

Dianne--Salvation Army is the best "thrift store" we have! Plenty of stuff, and decent prices.

Bobbie--Sadly, I've never had any luck with Freecycle for wants.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Have you thought of contacting a busy motel/hotel in your area? This is an item that is discarded on a regular basis. Make friends with the head housekeeper! You are such a good mom!

When Andy was a baby, I put the flannel covered pee pads ON TOP of his sheets. No, not the doggie pee pads, the baby ones :) Just tucked them in over the sheet, and cut the 5 storey run to the laundry in the basement to a minimum. Didn't have to wash the entire bedding each morning. Got the thinking cap on this morning, and I too am on my way out to thrift. Found Carnegie Hall collections of Beethoven for $2.00! Of course, I had to drop $58 on a record player at Big lots, but they have Bach as well! Goin back for my Bach. :)
I'll take a looksee and sees what I spies :)

No idea where you are exactly in VA, but you might as well try craig's list, esp. if you're willing to pay a little for the mattress pads.

Good luck! You are so awesome to have taken Koi/Sherbert/Milo.
