Please Help Our Ori-Pei

Post by Charla Bynum »

Name: Lucky
Breed:Ori-Pei (Shar-Pei/Pug)
Age:7 Months

We need your help Please! Our dog Lucky has broken his leg in two spots. At first we didnt think that it was bad because he would run around and play with our other two dogs. He would act fine and everything but then he would cry out really loud in pain. We called a local vet and they said that it was mostly nerve damage but to bring him in to make sure. They then took x-rays of his front right leg and found that he had broken it in two spots. They said that Lucky was out running in the yard and might have got his leg caught in a hole from the ice in the ground. They gave us three options for his broken bone...ONe was to have surgery and fix it (1,500-2,000), or they can apputate his leg or put him down. Our first thought was to NOT put him down. And the surgery was way out of our familys budget so we decided to have it apputated. Two days later we got a call from the vet and they told us that they wanted to try and save his arm. They told us that since he was so young and still growing that they wanted to try wrap his arm and hope thebones would fuse together, so this is where we are now. We need donatins of sheep skin, something soft and we found one for 50.00 which we cannot afford and we need money for the medicine to remove the swelling and take some of the pain away. PLEASE HELP US TODAY. In Luckys name, Thank You, Charla Bynum

Hi Charla,

I would encourage you contact some of the financial aid links, especially Care Credit--they give a quick response. Here is a list of financial aid sources.
