Jacks sisters in Dog Fancy for December

Post by kodiblue »

Hi everyone. If anyone gets Dog fancy magazine, The Rolling Dog Ranch has an article in the dec issue. They have used my Jacks sisters, Noodle and Soba to illustrate how happy handicappers can be. I almost adopted Noodle at the time I took Jack, but thought I may not be able to carry around two 50 pound furbabies. I felt guilty for a long time after and followed her progress to the ranch. Lo and behold now they are famous. I bet jack is jumping for joy at the bridge. Steve from the ranch also sent an offer of his two blind poodles to the Obamas, for white house pets!!! We'll see what happens.

My 13 yr 7 month old Golden Retriever is pictured in the December Issue :D

He won the "Golden Years" photo contest! I took this photo on our vacation to the beach in Cape May, New Jersey this past August. He is pictured wearing his Ruff Wear Harness. It was not easy to get him down to the water but we are sure glad we did! Just seeing his big smile was well worth it!

I'm so glad that they have been featuring "handicapped pets" lately. My friends dog was also featured in an issue and she is a tripod due to Cancer. No matter what the handicap, it shows people that they are all valuable members of our families!!

I'll look for the January issue next time I go to the vet. Dog Fancy has been featuring handicapped or elderly pets for the past couple of years, not sure when they started. One of their writers was here gathering information for an article about a year ago. :)
