NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!

Post by GabrielDeafBlindPupFamily »

GHAAAAHHHHH! There is no word for revulsion... Warning ...
So the doors are open and little Albin comes in and can now jump on the couch. I happened to be looking at him, which I am not always, and saw he has something in his mouth. It's a DEAD MOUSE! So I grab him by scruff and toss hiim to floor and there are an explosion of maggots! On the couch, on the floor, on the door step. I am reeling right now. I have always hated maggots even worse than spiders. Thank GOD I had a sheet on the couch! That sheet is now garbage!

I worked so hard this weekend, putting the house back where it was 4 years ago when I moved in. Sat around patting myself on the back. THIS IS WHAT I GET! Pride goeth before a GAG!

I can understand about the maggots, I had a rabbit for a pet a few years back and apparently a fly got to her. One morning I went to get her out of her cage and she wasn't acting right, come to find out her vagina was loaded with magots.
O f course she past away, there were just too many magots. I still miss her she was litter boxed trained and a very smart pet.
I still feel guilty as I wish I knew she had them,if I'd known ahead of time maybe I could have saved her. I often wonder how long she had them. When I put her in her cage the night before she acted the way she always did.

Marilyn, several years ago I tried to save a couple of newborn kits. They had maggots inside and we lost the battle. They did die with a bellly full of warm formula and knowing love, though.

heeheeheeheehee

when mom worked at teh preserve she got very used to maggots.
the volunteers used ot have maggot races in the bedline of teh pickup truck.

dey is pretty icky!

if u wants to get rid of maggots on a fur's bum, you can get the ivermetcin horse paste and use it to smear all over & make an enema from. the maggot will come charging out! also, capstar works for dogs & cats, it will kill maggots.

mom says maggots in teh house and by surprise are grosser than maggots outside.

i'm glad u had a sheet on u couch, that does make cleanup easier.

Bendy, when I was in GS camp, we had daddy long leg races. You had to hold a leg, until the whistle blew. And more often than not, I held a squirming leg while my spider raced away!

And I sure do miss that sheet. Sand color.Goes with everything!
