Hiya,

I've been a member here for a few years. My cat Misty has had (in the last few years) a FCE (spinal stroke), nerve damage and arthritis. The help and support I've gotten here has been phenomenal. Misty is doing really well-her nerve damaged leg is so much better-not 100% because she has arthritis in that leg too but pretty good. She still has some balance issues from her FCE but has great function according to her specialist and.... her arthritis is firmly under control-it hasn't gotten any worse over the last few years. So fabulous news all around!!

Anyway, Misty is in the running for a competition called New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model. It's a fundraiser for two great New Zealand cat charities-the SPCA and the Lonely Miaow. We have entered her because she's not only beautiful on the outside, but more importantly-on the inside. She has the most amazing soul and despite her hardships she spends her time helping others. I have a chronic illness called dysautonomia and she has given me so much love, help, strength and inspiration. She deserves to win so much-she's a great example of a disabled cat who lets nothing stop her from doing what she loves.
