Nice piece....way too short....I think you should have your own Animal Planet series! This way waaay overdue. I hope it brings you lots of good things, Karen. I shared this on my FB page.

Thank you, Christine, for watching it. We got more public awareness from this Hometown Heroes segment than one solid year of rescue events. NOW people know, the intentionals are INTENTIONAL and they are killed.

We also had this same press coverage at our SC TV site, for which I am forever grateful and I FB'd it.

I also had the privilege and honor of being on the ED's page on our monthly magazine and this entire sequence of events has had me in tears of gratefulness.

As you know, every life saved is a life saved in Andy's honor. My boy will live forever with this kind of coverage.

Thank you again, Christine for watching it. You are, I guess, the only one who actually did :) That's why I count you as impossibly special in my life

I'll also add we are over 250 members strong all over the northern hemisphere. The group is dedicated, focused, impossibly successful and I am so proud of all of our members.

I took on the most CHALLENGING of rescues, had I had any idea, I may not have had the courage.

We face villification from breeders, genetics groups, Australian Shephered genetics groups, well, we are pretty much slammed everywhere.

This is why every life saved is a miracle. Every life saved means Andy lives another day.

I am so proud of the members of LWAR-C&B I cannot begin to describe. An incredible bunch of humans who also grab the lead of one of the most preventable defects and the most embraced preventable defects by breeders who are after the almighty buck.

Our mission is first education, 2nd the ABILITY of the handicappedpet, 3rd the ABILITY of a human to handle this defect and 4TH getting the AKC to disqualify ALL OFSPRING OF MXM bred births. Our only hammer isthe pocketbook. AKC won't touch. You know what their mission statement is:

BETTERMENT OF THE BREED! What a lousy joke this is. They throw us back to the breed club who has NO problem breeding MxM and even no more problem culling pups who don't meet standard.

This battle will continue for the rest of my life.

And thanks again, Christine, for caring. Out of 1,400 members, you have promoted us, you have encouraged us, and you have given me a kick just where I need it to try harder. We made amazing headway int eh last 4 weeks. AMAZING! You are so special to me :)

Sounds like a ripple effect is finally happening and that is wonderful! I am not the savviest Facebooker in the box, but I wonder if it might not behoove (sp???) you to create a Fan Page for LWARC? It would gain exposure to people who (as I was) are totally oblivious to the plight of these babies. Each of your friends can "Like" it and link back to it which would open linking to your board and Andy's sites, the possibilities are endless.

One of the best things about Facebook is how easy it is to post videos on it. A video of Gabriel doing his tricks at one of your events could be one of those You Tube viral hits.

Doing videos is one pond I have not yet stuck my big toe into, but one of these days, I will try and it will probably be creating one for my Resort, but I digress...

I just can't wait to see the next great thing about to happen to you and your heartbeat!
