bendy is dying
they did an emergency ultrasound to see what was behind the fluid in his abdomen, ran all in house blood work
everything points to one thing...
FIP
the cyclosporin he is on is slowing it down. he is still happy. but its a week or two at the most.

Hoping it's not true. It usually affects cats in the first 3 years of life. Maybe a second opinion.

Please check your email, I just sent you an e-book that I downloaded just now off of

http://www.dr-addie.com/

If it is FIP, it Dr. Addie says
http://www.dr-addie.com/treatment.htm wrote:When I first came to Feline Infectious Peritonitis research, FIP was an incurable condition. Most reported "recoveries" were probably curable conditions wrongly diagnosed as FIP. With the introduction of feline interferon we now see a glimmer of hope: treatment can occasionally effect a remission, sometimes for months and about 25% of cases recover completely. However, a lot more work requires to be done.

almost nonexistant albumin
high globulin
anemic
protein rich fluid filling abdomen
granulomas forming on organs (see in ultrasound)

sudden weight loss, he is skin and bones and a belly.

i have known more cats over 6 years old who have died of FIP than young ones.
the wet form is hard to miss
:( :(

i trust these vets more than any other

the cyclosporin that finally got his stomatitis under control is slowing it down.

I am in shock. Bendy has been a true inspiration to me and because of him I rescued a few "no-chance" cats, some of whom are still with me. The others spent their last days/months/years filled with love. Bendy, you are my hero.
