scared teh cr*p out of me. she was pulling herself along by her front legs, towards me, meowing.
she has torn the muscle in the back of her lower leg, the one that controls her foot. she will need to be confined for at least four weeks. it is very painful. so she is on anti-inflammatories and pain meds and in a large rabbit cage. poor thing, i have no idea exactly how she did it. she flies around the house like a mad thing, so i'm not surprised she is the one to get hurt but a torn muscle? geeeesh.

I can't quite picture that either, and I've never even heard of that in a cat. I'll bet it does hurt. :( I hope she can figure out the litter box with a sore leg. Maybe the pain medication will help there. I guess nobody told her she is getting a little old to be bouncing off of walls?

she gets in the litter box fine. but she wants to know who you are calling old?
she says she is as spry as ever and has no clue what happened to her leg!
the pain meds are definitely helping, make her much cheerier!

She has developed breathing problems, swelling in her sinuses and is on prednisone and tramadol so she can breathe.
She must have hit her head when whatever happened, happened. My poor girl! I would love to know just what happened! She is getting a head x-ray friday morning, I am thinking she has a sinus fracture.
Hopefully the swelling will resolve over time and it will heal.
She is being a very good sport about the whole thing.

Good grief, could it be a reaction to the first meds? Swelling should have happened sooner don't you think? Is there anything like pine shavings dust in the rabbit crate that could be allergenic? Poor thing. Poor both of you!
