Popping in for a quick hello.
This is Barnabus kitten. He arrived with partial use of his hind legs and somehow while I was away for just a few hours and he was in a cage, managed to do something to his back and now has no use of his hind legs. He was already incontinent.
He is a happy lil guy zooming all over. He even enjoys bathtime in the tub! I want to get him a drag bag. Ordered one off amazon and their size small was huge. I could fit three of him in it!
Here is a little video of him playing.
Enjoy

He looks so happy, like he landed in the funnest place and all is right in the world.

Very glad to meet you, little Barnabus! You are precious!

He is actually a dark tabby, he had an episode today where his back was dore. I think he plays very hard and strains something. I need to look into someway to stabilize his back for him. got him on some metacam, all his labs looked great. I can't remember any discussions of feline back braces, or really any kind of back braces, but I think it would benefit him.

I don't remember any discussion of back braces for cats either.

I looked up some links. Not sure any of these are small enough. Found some others that were definitely too big.

https://www.chewy.com/labra-ivdd-spine- ... /dp/768350
(XS = 5-10lbs lbs, 9")

https://lilbackbracer.com/
(11-13 back, 13-15 chest)

https://lilbackbracer.com/products/cust ... ack-bracer
(Custom sizing, expensive)

https://www.gentlepetstore.com.sg/produ ... back-brace
(They seem to make a small one but their size graphic does not
match their dropdown information so it's hard to tell)

https://www.handicappedpets.com/walkin-vertebrave/
https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/cat-back-pain/
(article talks about a back brace for cats, does not list who wrote
the article or their credentials)

https://www.amazon.com/NeoAlly-Arthriti ... 0CD2XTXV7/
(S is 10-12.5")

Trying to think if anything from a sporting goods store might work. Like a kid's size knee pad and wrap over it with an ace bandage for firmness?
https://www.academy.com/search?searchTe ... ds%20youth

Foam pad out of a teen bra, held in place with an ace bandage?

Cut up an old foam computer mouse pad, hold in place with ace wrap?

i thin it needs to be stiffer than a knee pad. Never in my life did I think I would be able to search anywhere for 'cat back brace' and actually find things. Amazon? holy cow. I am going to look around. He is on crate rest right now saying he feels much better and please can he come out now? please?

I'm not seeing anything for under 10 pounds. Lil Barnabus is only 5 pounds. I wonder if one of my wrist splints would be adapted.

I bet it could. Neoprene and hook/loop are all many of them are.
