Chosing a wheelchair

Post by ShilohsMom »

Hi. I'm trying to choose the right wheelchair for my dog. Right now I'm torn between Walkin Wheels and Eddie's. Does anyone know which one is easiest to get your dog into? I have a 65 lb dog and I have nobody to help. I saw a post where someone has to use an engine hoist to get their dog into the Walkin Wheels. Is it normally that hard?

Also, how well would the Walkin Wheels handle a deep gravel driveway and a very rocky dirt road?

Hi,

I was the person using the engine hoist, but it wasn't for Walkin' Wheels. My dog had 2 carts and they were both quad carts (4 wheels), one was from Doggon' Wheels and one was from Eddie's Wheels. I do not think you need an engine hoist as much when you are just putting the dog in a 2-wheel cart, because you do not have to lift the whole dog off the ground like you do to put him in the kind of 4-wheel carts my dog had.

Here is a demo of off road use.

Here is about the engine hoist.

Thank you so much, CarolC. I'll probably go with the Walkin' Wheels. In those videos it looks like it handles off road really well.

This is the 4 wheel one available in UK

It does not have the bar at the front of the dog though the same as the US ones. They are around £400 over here I think.
