Schnauzer with stroke

Our Miniature Schnauzer Nena had a stroke about 1 week ago. She is showing signs of improvement in her balance and walking. Has anyone had experiene with recovery time in dogs that have had strokes? We realize it will be a long road to recovery and as long as we see improvement we will continue to support her. There is very little information to be found about strokes in dogs. Any information would be of great interest.
