Dog with Amputated Leg in a Dog Wheelchair

Post by nbregger »

If your dog has a rear amputated leg, the Walkin Wheels will still work for your dog. You might need to counter balance the cart (moving the wheels slightly forward) to take some of the weight off the front leg.

Here's a photo of a cart with a piece of foam, glued to the harness, where the leg is missing.
Whether or not you do this depends on how the leg was amputated.
If there is a stump, then the foam is not needed.
If the leg is amputated at the hip and there is no stump, the dog may be quite a bit more comfortable with a piece of foam for support.
