Hi all,
My 10 month old kitten, Leo, is consistently popping outside of the litter box. I adopted Leo at 6 months old and the local shelter assessed that he has CH. My vet, however, suspects that he has partial paralysis from an injury to his front arm when he was a very tiny kitten. Either way, Leo can stand on his back legs, but he has very little feeling and drags his back half around most of the time.
We have tried all of the conventional wisdom with the box. Even the local behaviorist and vets are stumped. We have one normal, shallow box (no lid) and one assisted box with steps/ramp. He uses both and never pees outside of the box.
His stool does occasionally have blood in it and he has loose stool somewhat often. Overall, Leo is happy and healthy otherwise!
If any of the more seasoned pet parents out there have ideas or suggestions, please let me know. I am also very interested in any handicapped-accessible litter boxes like the domed one that I have now with the ramp.
Thanks! Rachel (and Leo)

Re: CH Kitty and Litter Box Issues
Hmm. We use boxes like https://www.amazon.com/KittyGoHere-Seni ... litter+box . You might also consider some of the poop tricks, like those used for spinal cord injured furs, to get your baby to "Poop on Demand," then you could poop him into the toilet, on a pee pad, etc. See "Bladder and bowel care" at viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10626 .

PS--Do you know about the CH kitty club at Facebook? There are US and UK groups that I know of, and you can even join both if you want. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CHKittyClub/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/212625224538/
