A urine scald solution that worked for my cat

Post by barley »

Just wanted to share something I've learned works for me.

My male cat had a tail break a year ago and had the usual incontinence issues. He had really bad urine scald and no matter what I tried (washing with salt water, ointments, etc.) I found that shaving his fur off on his pee/poo area and down the back of his legs a bit completely cleared up the scald. Now I just take him to the vet once every 2-3 months to get a buzz cut down there and he remains scald free. It was really a HUGE relief that this worked. Now I don't worry about it and I can just let him be a normal (outdoor) cat who is happy, healthy and not stinky.
