Lactated Ringer's

Post by CarolC »

Well, I feel dumb because I never knew this. I have always bought fluids in the 1000 ml bags, the big ones like they use for humans. That's fine if you are giving fluids every day, but if you have a small pet getting fluids "as needed", you do not use up the bag. I just learned they have 500 ml or 250 ml bags. They cost more per liter, but you are not disposing of so much.

You're right. I never thought of them, either.

It's such an unusual thing to use that I never even thought about them existing, and, then, I haven't done anything medical for so many years now.
