Incontinent cat after tail pull injury

Post by zoe1979 »

Hi

My cat was run over in September 2014. She had a broken pelvis and dislocated tail but had anal tone. I had her on Lactulose for about a year so she could poo. Now she s ok. She has never had to be expressed but is urinary incontinent. She does pee in the litter box but leaks puddles too. I have taken her to 4 vets. The last one gave me propalin phenylpropanolamine to titten urinary sphincter but it only works slightly... Her vulva sometimes has spasmes and out the pee comes. So does anyone have any advice? Medication? Its so hard. She ruined the sofa and the floorboards are nearly ruined too. Have put pads down but not everywere of course. We built her a shed but she wants to stay inside. She won t wear nappies. I even had one made especially for her. She seems happy enough even if She is not allowed to go into all of the rooms..... I just can t face putting her down.
Thanks for your answers
