Not able to express much, seems to hurt

Post by Bek3k »

About 5 montgs ago my cat was injured and his leg and tail were broken.
He became urinary and bowel incontinant. I have been expressing his bladder and bowel at least once a day. I woukd do more but he is an indoor/outdoor (no bashing please, if I coukd keep him in all the time I would, but he darts fir the door and quite appept at escape).
Anyway he didn’t come home 3 nights ago and the next night I had to go out of town. When I got back I found him and brought him in and expressed his bladder. But it dud not seem to fully empty and he acted like it really hurt. The same tonight. He doesn’t act sick or like he is running a fever.
It just feels like bladder is swollen and like it hurts to express it and not much urine comes out.
Has anyone else had this issue?

I expect there's a good chance he has a UTI. I'd take him to the vet for a check, and possibly antibiotics. Have you tried pee meds? They might make him easier to express or able to pee better on his own.
