Frankie uses two and sometime three Poise pads a day. I'd like to switch to something washable, but I'm not sure where to start. Is there anything that will be half as good as a Poise overnight pad?

Marni used to use cloth diapers with her doxie, Simon. She folded them and put them in a malewrap. Here are a couple of her posts describing it.

If you're going to do diapers, you may want a diaper pail. That's someplace to keep the wet diapers until you have enough to wash. Here is some information on how to do a diaper pail.

Depending on how it goes, you may want to use a waterproof malewrap if you are just using cloth diapers for his pads. For example, in the olden days (not that long ago) before disposables, they used to make "plastic pants" for babies. They were like vinyl panties with elastic at the legs and waist, and you put them on over the diaper so there was no worry about leaks.

I don't know if you can get cloth diapers locally, but they do have several kinds on walmart.com. Just search under "cotton diapers".

Hmm. Interesting idea!! You'd think there'd be something available somewhere now that so many people are thinking "green."

My grandma used to tell how they'd make their own period pads out of fabric scraps before the commercial ones came into being.

I have my own reusable pads that I bought on Etsy. I like them a lot. While I'd like to be greener, it's also about the money. I'd much rather spend that money on treats or toys.

I found some diaper liners which are like square pads. We will see how they work. I think you are right about having to get waterproof bands though. Thank you for sharing the posts. I searched, but nothing came up for me.
