Abby, my 15 year old Lab, has a bad bladder infection, probably because she has some neurological deficit in her hind end and isn't voiding completely. I tried expressing her to make sure she was empt but she has too much muscle tone for me to be able to do it. Any hints? I couldn't really even locate her bladder.
She does drink plenty of fluids and I'm adding a supplement to acidify her urine.

Phenoxybenzamine. Oscar has A LOT of tone, and his bladder resists being expressed. The phenoxybenzamine has really helped.
I am not a vet; please consult your vet before making any treatment decisions.
