Welcome to DIY Forum, a place for sharing creative do-it-yourself ideas to help special needs pets. If you have a DIY project, post it here! If you've seen a great DIY idea somewhere, please share it!

Some topics in this forum are copies (or partial copies) of topics that were posted elsewhere on the board. They are copied here to highlight the DIY ideas they contain. There have been so many great do-it-yourself ideas posted on this board, we will never be able to find and highlight them all. If you know of one you think deserves to be highlighted, please contact a moderator!

We love our pets. People have helped their pets with the DIY ideas in this forum, but these ideas are not equally suitable for all pets. There can be issues with anything you build or make. Wheelchairs must be properly fitted to provide safe and comfortable support. An unbalanced wheelchair can tip over. A dog can drive a wheelchair off a ramp with low sides. Some slings and harnesses could be uncomfortable or potentially harmful, depending on your pet's condition. There are important medical considerations regarding braces that most laypeople would be unfamiliar with. Some pets will require a rest period following an injury before it is appropriate to put them in a cart. Please check with a veterinarian before applying any information on this site to your animals.
