Sheepskin + chamois bed for incontinent cat

Post by CarolC »

This bed was invented by BendyMom for Simon, her incontinent cat.

It has synthetic skeepskin on top

and synthetic chamois cloth on the bottom.

INSTRUCTIONS
Machine wash and dry both materials.
Cut chamois cloth 3" shorter than the sheepskin in length and width.
Fold sheepskin with the sheepy side inside.
Stitch the 4 corners as shown.

Cut the corners to remove bulk and trim excess fuzz so it will lie flat when you turn it rightside out.
Turn the finished corners out and lay sheepskin sheepy side down.
There will be a 1.5" fold of sheepskin all around.
Lay the chamois cloth on the sheepskin, tucking the chamois under the folds.
Stitch around in a rectangle close to the edges as shown, no need to turn the edges under.

Urine passes through the sheepskin and is absorbed by the chamois cloth, keeping the cat dry.
