Squirrel-VS- Dogs

Post by Mary and Roxy »

Good evening.. I haven't been here for a while, check in now and then, but haven't had anything to add to anything.. For any of you that remember Roxy and I. shes doing wonderful, you would never know she had lost the use of her back legs. My question for this evening is, about a squirrel vs dog's.. A friends dog's. got a hold of a squirrel. played pretty ruff with it, but the squirrel fought back, actually think the squirrel won. it managed to get away, but one of her dogs noises got bite up, They put peroxide on the noise and all seams well, but now shes thinking it could have had rabies. I told her to go ahead and go to vets, but she remembered that i used to use this site a lot and wanted me to ask, do they do shots on dogs, like they would do on a person if they wornt sure about rabbies? Thanks Mary

I'd go on to the vet. Critters have had pre-exposure shots, and it may not be a big deal if the shot is UTD. Besides, the pupper might need antibiotics if bitten.

Has the dog been vaccinated? That will protect from the virus. It's state law to be vax'd.
