Carry a large dog?

Post by helpemma »

Ok, Emma is around 100lbs, she is big. To get her out side to do her thing rite now (broken leg), we use a double sling (under her chest and under her tummy). She really does not like this, and it looks like it might hurt. Is there an easier way to do this?

Here is a picture of Bully's transport, and here is a link to the message describing it. It's the same idea as a mechanic's creeper that goes under a car.

However, I don't see any easy way to transport a dog with her leg like that...I sort of feel like it might be easiest to potty her inside on puppytraining pads?

Or put her in a diaper. They make human adult diapers that would probably fit if you find the right size.

Normally they tell you to turn a down dog every few hours to avoid bedsores, I don't know if the vet gave you any guidelines on that. So even though it may bother her to get up, it's good to get her off that side for a while.
