I don't know if this is fiction or non, adult- or kid-stuff at this point, but it's pretty hard to find critter cleft info regardless.

I read it. It's fiction, based on the author's experience with a puppy with a cleft palate. Not a lot of meat to it or practical advice but it reads well. The story is narrated by the daughter (I never saw an age but could have missed it) who is autistic and supposedly has MS (but that would suggest older than she seems to be in the story or else the author didn't research disesases very well.)

Get that Kindle Fire working! It's easy and you'll enjoy a lot of free books and some very cheap ones.

Thanks, Bobbie! It's rare for MS to hit kids, but I know a kid who had it, and who recently died of it. Still, my initial reaction was the same as yours!

I couldn't agree more about the Fire. I have 4 of them on my account, and I LOVE them. The free books and games can pay for it quickly.

Here--a user's manual. I can't vouch for the contents, but it's free. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ASQMZ90/?ie ... &tag=false The Fire 2, which I assume you have based on purchase date, is a tiny bit harder to learn than Fire 1, but not by much. Both are very user-friendly.

The free book list I use now is http://www.freereadfeed.com/ . Things just changed in the last few weeks, and at least some of the lists, including the one I used to use, shut down. Enjoy!!

I don't have a Fire, but I have an iPad and a Kindle 2, and bought my grandson a Kindle for christmas (registered to my account so I can send him books.) Now they finally have parental controls it's great for kids.

I use the parental controls to turn off the buying on the 3 Fires that aren't actually in my constant possession, especially the one in the nursing home. If somebody loses or steals one, nobody can go on a shopping spree. I protect mine with an upfront password.

PS--BendyMom: I suggest you set up your Ammy account and all, if you haven't already. You can be checking the free lists with a laptop and send freebies to your Fire that way, even before you've figured out how to use it. That's my preferred way of loading it anyway--MUCH faster. 1 flaw with the Fire 1 and 2 is that the Silk browser is weird and clunky; I use it only if there's no other way.

Right now I'm at the library with laptop and Fire, so the laptop can be sending stuff as fast as the Fire can suck it in. :D

Ammy=Amazon
Silk is the browser (like Chrome, Explorer, etc. in a desktop or laptop) in a Fire.
