Can anyone work this out? (how much medicine to give)

Post by Pixie_Kitten »

Hello I got some medication for my cat today. It's called Loxicom. They gave my a syringe with it that has numbers 1 to 10(kg) down the side and written along the numbers is 0.5mg/ml. The box says Loxicom Cat 5m (1) to be given daily with food if vomiting or diarhoea occurs stop immediately 3kg dose once daily...what does that mean?? I am confused on how much to suck up can anyone shed some light on it please?

If kg are written on the syringe and they say 3 kg dose, fill to the 3 line. (You might want to call the vet and confirm.)

If the syringe also says mls, that should be .15 mls as the dose is .05 mg/kg and if they said 3 kg dose, that's .15 mls. .15 and 3 should be the same line.

yeah I think I should just fill it to number 3. Done that anyway and my cat seems a bit better.

I answered in the other post, but Bobbie said it better. Ignore my other post.
