Cerebellar Hypoplasia

Post by barbarony »

I have a 11 month old boxer/pit mix that has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It means that the cerebellum part of his brain is underdeveloped. I work with a rescue called Dire Straits Companion Animal Rescue and he was brought to the attention of our rescue bc of his special needs. He is very clumsy bc of his disorder but a healthy happy pup anyway. His name is Roy. Does anyone else out there have an animal with this condition?

:whale: Sure-- CH is quite common. I have/have had 4. I don't know of any dog-specific groups, but there are dogs at https://www.facebook.com/groups/CHKittyClub/ . There's also a UK (more world-wide) group that I joined as well.

PS--The neuro board here at HP should have a fair number of CH-type posts, too.
