Boomer's Pee Pee

Post by Ryan »

Hello Everyone,
I do not know the cause of Boomer’s real problem, so I maybe posting on the wrong board.

Let me explain…

Boomer is a “Non-Injured“ 8-year-old Lab-X-Mutt. He has never had any health issues.
His water intake seems to be normal, and his diet has always been consistent, not too glamorous, or rich, but consistent.

About 18-months ago a drop or two of dark red blood was found as Boomer got to his feet and walked a short distance.
The blood is dark, undiluted by urine, and without an indication of pus.
He has shown no signs of illness, and after a day or two, the blood drops seem to stop.
Within the last 18-months this may have occurred three different times.
On the last occurrence, I laid him down and felt for swelling, or pain in the sheath area, but felt nothing out of the ordinary.

Because of the reoccurrence he will have to be seen by a Vet.
Is this a commonly seen, and/or does anyone have any idea of the cause?

The only times I've seen blood in pee was from a UTI, kidney failure, or bladder stones or crystals. A vet visit is DEFINITELY called for.

I agree, there are many reasons for blood in urine, and I would take Boomer to doc, and keep samples, in case it doesn't appear during the visit.
