Jean-Claude is coughing again

Jean-Claude is our heartworm cat. he gets a secondary lung infection that is very nasty. It doens't repond to clavamox or antirobe and only partially to doxy and baytril. It took Zith to knock it out last time but Zith is about $60.

we have doxy and started him on that, to at least keep it from getting much worse while we try and get some funds together for more Zith.
Poor guy sounds so pathetic. His breathing is gurgly and the cough is a deep chest cough - a croup. not a good sound for a cat to make!

Did you ever try the nebulizer with him? I don't remember. Samson loves the nebulizer - comes running when I get it out.
If he doesn't like the noise you can do many things to make it easier on him. You can wrap the nebulizer in a towel or use extra tubing to be farther away from the motor. Since it treats at the sourse, it may be worth a trial run.
Anyways, we are hoping that JC feels better soon!
